Wise County Woman Convicted of Public Assistance fraud by Jury.
October 14, 2009 – A Wise County Jury convicted Parlee Honeycutt on 2 charges of committing perjury in order to receive aid from the Department of Social Services. Prosecutors alleged the Defendant lied on her application to receive public assistance by stating she had never been convicted of felony narcotics distribution. The Jury sentenced Honeycutt to 18 months in prison, 9 months for each count. The case was prosecuted by Ken Lammers from the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
