The class is designed to inform teachers about risks children face while using the Internet and provide strategies for safer Internet use. In today’s technologically sophisticated world, and with Internet related crime on the rise, the Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office understands the importance of promoting safe Internet use and is sponsoring this class in conjunction with the Safe Surfin’ Foundation as a public service.

The class will be held on August 13, 2010 from 10:15 a.m. – noon at J.I. Burton High School.

]]> http://press.wisecwa.com/?feed=rss2&p=339 0 Scam Using Fake Military Credentials http://press.wisecwa.com/?p=335 http://press.wisecwa.com/?p=335#comments Mon, 02 Aug 2010 12:33:32 +0000 admin http://press.wisecwa.com/?p=335 Several Wise County fax machines recently received the document below, claiming to be from a Marine in Iraq wanting to give you millions in exchange for letting him send you “found” money.  A quick search of the internet reveals we aren’t the first to receive such communications, but the form of this letter is slightly different.  We get lots of scam emails and faxes, and I try to post them regularly, but none of them has irked me more than this one. Not only is it an attempt to scam us, it is an injustice to our service men and women. Remember, any military email will end in .mil, not infantrymarine.com.
